Formal Dress: White Tie


If you got the invitation with the dress code "white tie", "cravate blache" or "full evening dress", it would signify that you are required to wear a tailcoat jacket with a white bow tie.

The tailcoat normally must be in black, single breasted and cannot be button up. The lapels are also silk covered just like tuxedo.

Other formalities include:

1) Pants - The outseam will have 2 braids; parallel silk stripes. Not to be worn with belt thus, a suspender will hold it.

2) Waistcoat - A white cotton pique with single or double lapels.

3) Dress Shirt - White color with french cuffs plus wing collar.

4) Top Hat - Should be black but nowadays you'll have to take it off once arrived at the venue.

5) Gloves - White in color but not obligatory.

6) Silk Scraf - Worn only with outercoat and goes out at the same time with the outercoat.

7) Shoes - Black patent shoes is a must but a black oxford is acceptable.
