A men's suit is best defined as a set of clothing using the same fabric. Traditionally, the suit came with 3 part; Jacket, Vest & Trouser. The mordern suit nowadyas only consist of the jacket and trouser of the same fabric.
It's very important for a gentleman to distinguish of these 2 definitions:
1) Custom Made (Bespoke) - An individual cut precisely adjusted to one's figure and personality.
2) Made to Measure - A standard cut is adjusted to one's figure and personality as far as possible.
Always remember that it's better to buy a suit that fits you well although not the best of fabric rather than buying a suit with better fabric but with poor cuttings.
A thin small-boned man will look best in a narrow-cut suit with little or no shoulder padding, narrow lapels and close fitting trouser.
An athletic broad-shouldered man will not need a shoulder padding either. The suit should fit to his measurement but the cut must not make him look even bigger than his actual size.
When it comes to choosing the color for the suit, the acceptable colors for formal wear are dark blue, dark to light gray and black. Brown or green should only be used for weekend or sporting occasions.
